What goes on at bootcamp? Every class will be different- expect to experience cardio drills, interval training, boxing, weights, stations, circuits and much more! The goal is to get fit while having fun - don't worry, we aren't drill sergeants! We want to make sure that everyone is being challenged appropriately for their fitness level while still enjoying themselves in a positive, supportive environment. Our Ripped Bootcamp team members have specialties in many fitness areas. Lesley is a Canadian Muay Thai kickboxing champion, mother of seven and star of the new Get Ripped workout. You will also meet Darren, a cross fit expert and certified personal trainer who is guaranteed to make you sweat and Jari Love, the creator of the Get Ripped DVD series and Fitness Magazine advisory board member, to name a few. What makes this bootcamp different than others? Our trainers are the best in Calgary and we get results. Jari is known internationally for her no nonsense total body workouts and she was the first trainer in Calgary to introduce these weight loss challenges. (Check out some of our success stories here ) Also, our bootcamp classes are held indoors. That means classes won't be cancelled due to weather and you won't have to freeze outdoors. They held in a huge training facility with access to treadmill and spin workouts as well as other equipment with high-energy music to keep you motivated. We switch-up the exercises frequently so you?ll never get bored. In addition to the fitness classes, our nutrition seminars are packed with useful information that will keep you on track and motivated for maximum results.
What should I wear? What should I bring? Wear comfortable exercise clothing and proper running shoes. Don't forget to bring a sweat towel, water bottle and snack for after the workout.
I'm new to exercise... is this going to be too hard for me? NO WAY! We make sure that every exercise is shown with modifications so that ALL FITNESS LEVELS can get a great workout. The main thing to remember is that only you can determine your limitations and only you will know if you are being challenged. We encourage you to listen to your body and do what feels right for you. You can make it as hard or as easy as you want!
Where do the classes and seminars take place? Classes take place at Fitness Plus Central (1709 8 Ave. N.E., 403-273-7450) and Fitness Plus South (10401 Braeside Dr. S.W., 403-258-0333). Feel free to mix and match between locations and times when you register. All of the seminars take place at Fitness Plus Central.
When does the challenge begin? Fitness testing will take place January 9th and 10th and takes about 20 minutes. This will help us assess your current fitness level. Please email ripped.challenge@gmail.com to book your time. A welcome and nutrition seminar to introduce the program will be held January 17th, 2010 at the Central Fitness Plus location. Classes begin January 18th and end on April 18th, 2010.
What if I don't want to register online? If you prefer not to pay and register online you can do both in person at either Fitness Plus (359711 Alberta Ltd.) location using Visa, Mastercard, Interac, cash or cheque.
What is included in the $449 fee?
2 weight loss seminars on diet and exercise.
30 specialty 1-hour bootcamp classes.
Can I get a better price? You bet! All you have to do is ask about our sign up a new warrior referral program.
What if I want to participate in the bootcamp, but don't want to submit photos or do the fitness testing? You can absolutely still sign up for the bootcamp and receive all of the benefits of the challenge, but you will not qualify for the prizes.
What are the challenge prizes and how is the winner decided? First prize is $2,010. Second prize is a weekend trip for two. Third prize is a spa package. The winners will be decided by a panel of celebrity judges who will make its decision based on the percentage of body weight lost and the participant?s story.
What if I can't attend a class? No problem. The classes are an extra bonus to help you achieve the results you are looking for, plus they are a lot of fun! You can easily do the contest from your home without going to classes. To be eligible for the challenge, we require you to do the Get Ripped DVDs as well as three to four cardio workouts each week and attend the nutritional seminars and fitness testing.
